1. Data controller

2. Overview

This website intentionally avoids cookies, tracking pixels, advertising networks, and user profiling. Only the data technically required to operate the website is processed, plus anonymized usage statistics.

3. Server log files

When you access this website, the web server (Nginx) automatically stores the following data in log files:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • Date and time of access
  • Requested URL and HTTP status code
  • Amount of data transferred
  • Referrer (previously visited page)
  • User agent (browser and operating system information)

The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in ensuring smooth operation of the website and in detecting and defending against attacks. Log data is rotated and deleted after no more than 14 days.

4. Hosting

This website is operated on a dedicated server provided by IONOS SE (Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany). A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with IONOS. The servers are located in Germany.

5. Analytics with Umami

This website uses the privacy-friendly analytics service Umami Cloud (Umami Software, Inc., USA) to measure reach. Umami works without cookies and without cross-site tracking. No personal identifiers (cookies, local storage, etc.) are set.

Only aggregated and anonymized data is collected:

  • Page visited (URL)
  • Referring page (referrer)
  • Anonymized, hashed IP address (not reversible)
  • Browser, operating system, and device type
  • Country of the request (no location beyond country level)

Identification of individual visitors based on this data is not possible. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR. The legitimate interest lies in the demand-oriented design and statistical evaluation of this website.

Since Umami Software, Inc. is based in the United States, transfer of the above data to the US cannot be ruled out. Umami relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses for this purpose. For more information, see https://umami.is/privacy.

6. External links

When you click on an external link (e.g. to GitHub, LinkedIn, iits-consulting, Fahrschule 45), you leave this website. I have no influence on the data processing of those third parties. Their respective privacy policies apply.

7. Self-hosted fonts

Web fonts (JetBrains Mono) are served directly from this website. No connection is made to Google Fonts or any other external font CDN.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • Correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • Erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • Restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • Objection to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)
  • Data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
